Mary K. Sandberg

Mary Kaye Sandberg: Funeral Director and Insurance Specialist

Mary Kaye was born and raised in North St. Paul and has never left. She is proud to be a lifelong resident of North St. Paul and enjoys the people and community spirit. She graduated North High School, class of 1978 and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science. She joined her family at Sandberg Funeral Home in January of 1988. She felt very blessed to have worked with her father until his death in 1998. When she is not working, she enjoys spending her time with her family and friends, traveling, hiking, working out, visiting her brother in California, golfing, and reminiscing with members of the community. She is a proud member of North St. Paul Lion’s Club, Women to Women Housing, North St. Paul Business Association, and Church of St. Peter Finance Committee.

Paul Sandberg

Paul was born and raised in North St. Paul, the oldest of four children. He played hockey for the Polars, graduating from North High School in 1976. Paul has two children Mark and Nikki, one granddaughter Violet. He enjoys time with his family, riding his motorcycle, going to the gym and being active in the community.

Gloria Sandberg

Gloria was born and raised in North St. Paul to Isabel & Anthony Ricci. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic School until high school. She attended North High School. Gloria was married to G. Paul Sandberg for 42 years and they stayed in North St. Paul where they raised their four children. She and Paul partnered at the funeral home to serve their community. Gloria officially retired in January 2010 which has given her more time to play bridge, travel, walk, and enjoy her friends. You can often find her at the funeral home if you stop in for coffee.

Gretchen Goulette: Funeral Director

Gretchen has enjoyed serving as a metro area funeral director since 1985. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota in 1985, following her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University in 1983. She is a second generation funeral director, with her parents serving families in Central Iowa. She treasures time with her family, enjoys Minnesota lakes in the summertime, walks in fresh snow, a good book, and long chats with old and new friends.

Dale Bachmeier: Funeral Director

Dale has been a funeral director for 20 years. He is married and lives with his wife and four children in Mendota Heights. His hobbies include woodworking, biking, singing, gardening, and camping with his family. Dale is fluent in Spanish and spent years living in Peru.

Sonya Monzel: Funeral Director

Sonya graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science. She has been at Sandberg Funeral Home since 1998. She has been married for 20 years and currently lives with her husband in Falcon Heights. In her spare time, Sonya enjoys landscaping, beading, and all animals.

Keith Krause: Support Staff and Insurance Specialist

Keith is originally from Roseville and he currently lives in Maplewood with his wife Karen. They have three married sons and five grandchildren. Keith has 16 years of experience with Sandberg Funeral Home and has worked full time as an account executive at Brown-Bigelow Promotional Products for 20 years as well. People knew him as the North St. Paul snowman mascot for over 14 years. When not working, he loves to spend time with his grandchildren. He is a dedicated volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America where he is an Eagle Scout and also received the prestigious Silver Beaver award recognition.

Alicia Moran-Lopez: Support Staff

Alicia, a North St. Paul native and graduate of North High School, currently resides in North St. Paul with her husband, son and grandsons. She is Mexican/Latina and speaks Spanish fluently. She came to Sandberg Funeral Home in 1990. Outside of work, she enjoys jazz dancing, Mexican folklore dancing, theatre, fishing, movies, motorcycle rides, traveling when able, bowling, working out at the gym, warm sun filled days and bonfire nights with her family and friends.

Dawn Mulvihill: Support Staff

Dawn was born and raised in North St. Paul. She currently lives here with her husband and two children. Dawn enjoys going to her childrens softball and baseball games and camping with her family.

Judy Miller: Support Staff

Judy was born in St. Paul and raised in Wisconsin until her family moved to Maplewood in 1964. She now lives in Oakdale with her husband. She has 3 grown children and one very special grandson (in Chicago, IL) She retired as a Pastoral Minister from an area church 3 years ago. She started at Sandberg in 2013 and loves the people contact. When she is not working Judy enjoys, gardening, golfing and jigsaw puzzles in the winter with her husband. She is an avid knitter and loves spending time with her large extended family and her grandson whenever possible.
