Obituary of Joan B. Carr

Born May 22, 1930. Passed away on March 4, 2011 surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Roman & Eleanor Prudlow; her husband of 38 years, Robert; and infant grandson, John Henry Van Ort. Survived by children Mary Jo (Tom) Jasicki, Jeannie (Mike) Van Ort, Robert Jr., Madonna, David, Colleen, John (Teri), and Greg; 14 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. Joan was a long-time resident of Maplewood and more recently Oakdale. Joan belonged to the Church of St. Peter for nearly 60 years serving as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women receiving the Martha Award in 2009. Joan will be remembered for her perpetual smile and how she truly embraced her faith, family and her many friends. She will be sadly missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday (March 12, 2011) 9:00 AM at Church of St. Peter, 2600 N. Margaret St., No. St. Paul. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Vistation Friday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., No. St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Church of St. Peter, North St. Paul or charity of donor’s choice.
