Obituary of Joan Dacko

Age 83 of North St. Paul Passed away peacefully on February 19, 2011. Preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Angela and her sister Delores. Survived by husband John M. Dacko, sons John F., Scott (Gala), and Tom (Sue) Dacko and their families. Joan grew up in North St. Paul next to Silver Lake and also lived in Minneapolis and Maplewood. Joan went to the University of Minnesota and had a career as a fashion illustrator and commercial artist. During her lifetime, she also painted and wrote poetry. Along with husband John, she was for many decades a member of a social club of old friends. She organized many family gatherings and regularly marked special occasions with phone calls, gifts, and thoughtfully written cards and letters. Joan will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her constant love, kindness and caring to all and for her strong Catholic faith and love of God. God’s love was with her and shone through her in all her actions, words, and prayers. To those who knew her, she always had a warm and cheerful personality and always showed thoughtful insights. Visitation to be held Sunday (2/27) 1-4 pm at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., No.St.Paul, and one hour prior to Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Monday (2/28) 11 am at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., No.St. Paul. Memorials preferred to the family.
