Obituary of Sharon Vi Peterson

PETERSON, Sharon Vi (Hershman) Age 72 of Forest Lake, formerly of North Saint Paul and her hometown, Huron, South Dakota passed away August 5, 2021, with her family at her side, following a 3-year courageous battle with cancer. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elaine Hershman and her nephew, Michael Hershman. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 48 years, William “Bill”; daughter, Dawn Rumley; son, Eric Peterson; grandchildren, Dylan and Ella Rumley and Dazie Peterson; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Hershman; nephew Barry Hershman and his wife Jayme; great nieces and nephew, Madison, Mackenzie, and Michael Hershman. Sharon can be remembered for always having baked goods at her home – especially chocolate chip cookies and homemade bread. She loved her grandchildren and was also excited to attend their sporting events. Sharon truly enjoyed being with her husband, Bill and taking road trips back home to South Dakota during pheasant hunting season was always a favorite! Her morning texts and daily greetings to family and friends will be missed! A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 15th at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 – 7th Avenue East, North Saint Paul. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life with be at 11:00 AM, Monday August 16th at Sandberg’s with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
