Age 89, of St. Paul’s Monastery died on January 18, 2022, at the Monastery, having lived and ministered as a Benedictine Sister for 70 years. After her first vows in 1951, Sister Benita served the children at St. Joseph’s Orphanage, St. Paul; Catholic Boys’ Home, Minneapolis; St. Joseph’s Home, St. Paul; she also served as cook and housekeeper at St. Anne’s Convent, Minneapolis.  She served as Dietary Supervisor at St. Mary’s Rehabilitation Center and St. Paul’s Monastery and in Hospitality at the Benedictine Center of St. Paul’s Monastery.  She is survived by her sister, Anyce Ditter; nieces and nephews; her Benedictine Sisters, Oblates, and Associates of St. Paul’s Monastery. Visitation 1-3 pm Sunday, January 23 at Sandberg Mortuary, North St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be livestreamed Monday, January 24 at 11 am at the Monastery. Due to the pandemic, we are not able to accommodate guests. Interment at Monastery Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Paul’s Monastery.
