Passed away peacefully at home Saturday, January 15, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer. She fought fiercely and courageously until the end, never losing her trademark wit, infectious laugh, and fiery spirit.
Born to Lester and Emma (Langer) Clark on February 8, 1946, Nancy grew up on a dairy farm in Rollingstone, MN, along with five brothers and a sister. After graduating from Lewiston High School in 1964, Nancy worked as a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Soon after, she met Charles Prigge at Cly-Mar Lanes in Lewiston. They married on March 19,1966 and remained by each other’s side for nearly 56 years.
In 1968, Nancy and Charles moved to North St. Paul, MN, where they raised four children and built a life full of love and laughter. Charles worked at 3M Company while Nancy managed the family home, a job she enjoyed and was passionate about. She was a caring mother, a skilled seamstress, a meticulous money manager and so much more. From ceramics to crochet, cross stitch to sewing, Nancy created many handmade treasures which she loved sharing with family. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and plants. But her greatest joy was always her children and grandchildren.
In later years, Nancy became an avid Twins fan who enjoyed spending summer nights watching games on TV. She was also a skilled wordsmith who enjoyed solving word puzzles and crosswords. There really wasn’t anything Nancy couldn’t accomplish when she put her mind to it. Right to the end, she was sharp as a tack. A straight shooter who always spoke her mind. She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by everyone with whom she shared a laugh and a smile.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles Prigge; children, Alyssa Brown of Cottage Grove; Robert Prigge of Woodbury; Carin (Steve) Kressin of Scandia; and Sara Prigge of North St. Paul; grandchildren Courtnee, Karynn, Wyatt and Leo; great-grandchildren Abby and Allie. Preceded in death by parents, Emma and Lester Clark, brothers, Earl, Charles (Doc), Martin, David, Robert (Bob) and sister Vivian.
A private memorial will be held on Friday, January 28, at Sandberg Mortuary in North St. Paul, with a celebration of life to be held later. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pet Haven, Inc. of Minnesota, or the American Cancer Society.
