Thomas John Gaynor

89, passed away March 26, 2022. Born in St. Paul, MN in 1932 and raised on the West Side Flats. A graduate of Humboldt High School. Lived most of his adult life in Maplewood. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Nora; siblings, Ann (Don) Schaefer, John, Edward, Nora (Vern) Magnuson, and Michael; son, Todd Gaynor; nieces and nephews; and Gwen Newmyer. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Missy (Leon) Lillie; daughter-in-law, Kathy Carpenter; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, Jake (Lindsay), Michelle, Taylor (Bill), Mik (Mary), Krystin (Grant), Andy (Heather), and Amy; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Logan, Madison, Jaxon, Zane, Teagan, Jacquelyn, Donnivan, Dominique, and Brooklynn; and friends. Tom was a hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping with the family. A lifelong learner. Union painter (Local 61). Korean War Veteran. Funeral Tuesday, April 5, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St Casimir, 931 Geranium Ave E, St Paul, MN, with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to audobon.org or neighb.org (youth svcs). Special thanks to Dr. Kirby Clark, M Health Fairview Cancer Care, the staff at St. John’s, other healthcare providers who helped along the way, and for end-of-life care, the beautiful staff at Woodwinds Hospital.
