Obituary of Linda Sue Brewer

Brewer, Linda Sue, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, after a 5-year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Hattie Lou Morgan, her sisters, Ruthie Jean Cole and Hesse Taper, and her brothers Jerry and Larry Morgan. Survived by: Daughters Felicia Morgan, Takita Nelson (Brydon), Lakesha Jones (Tremayne), Shalisa Brewer, Sons: Milford DeUndre Brewer (Kiana) and David Brewer. Sisters: Rosie Golden (Calvin), Debra Morgan, Mary Lee Howell, and Mary Jane White. Brothers: Jessie Morgan (Darlene), L.C. Morgan Jr., John Morgan, and 26 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren, honorary daughter Stephanie Floyd Howard, as well as many other family and friends. Linda was born in Lambert, MS, on September 30, 1956. She moved to Minnesota in 1973, where she met and fell in love with her husband of over 50 years, Milford Eli Brewer. They wed on March 2, 1974. Linda was a homemaker for many years; while raising her six children, she worked part-time jobs at Control Data, Letter Perfect, the University of St. Thomas, and Wells Fargo Phone Bank. Once her children got older, she became a full-time home daycare provider. Linda would later work as an Office Manager for Union Gospel Mission - Naomi Family Residence for 19 years before retiring in 2022. Linda gave her life to Christ in September of 1990. She became a member of St. Matthews Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Kelly Brown and Pastor Troy Brown, where she served faithfully until her transition. Linda served in many capacities at her church; she was an usher, a Sunday school teacher, and a Prayer and Bible study leader. She also served in various community outreach ministries over the years. In October of 2019, Linda was called to go on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. Linda was compassionate about serving the Lord and ministering to the needs of people. She was a woman of great faith and integrity, a true definition of what a missionary is. Linda loved to travel. She loved eating healthy and exercising. She loved her family, children, friends, and especially her grandchildren (she had a very special relationship with each one of them). But most importantly, she loved GOD. Our family would like to thank the staff at The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale, MN, for their outstanding care and kindness, helping to make our mom comfortable during her final days before going home to be with the Lord. Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives that she touched.
