Albert Moreno

Obituary of Albert Leonard Moreno

Albert L. Moreno

We are incredibly sad to announce the passing, much too soon, of Albert at age 75. Albert was a loving husband, adored father of three girls and delighted grandfather of three boys. He was a proud lifelong East Sider who couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone he knew.  He was an outstanding athlete during high school at Johnson (Class of 1966), and after when he generously passed on his knowledge as a long-time youth football coach at Wilder Playground. He was also an avid fisherman who enjoyed his time on the water with friends and family.

Albert served in the Army in the U.S and Panama, and worked at Xcel Energy for 33 years, where he ultimately retired as a supervisor.

He will be deeply missed by Peggy, his beloved wife of 48 years; his darling daughters Molly Short and her husband Andy; Katie Oxley and her husband Matt; Liz Bartholomew and her husband Jason; and his adoring grandsons Alex and Drew Oxley, Bennett Bartholomew, and a soon-to-be fourth grandson. Devoted brother of Rudy, Becky, Margaret, John and Mark. Brother-in-law of Kathy and Bill Krause; and Maureen McDonough and Roger Kapsner. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert was preceded in death by parents John and Eliberta, sisters Frannie and Janie.
