Beloved Mother and Grandmother, age 87 of North St. Paul on August 6, 2013. Born in Evanston, IL. Preceded in death by husband, Major Stephen A. (Ret.); parents, Nicholas and Marie Kalmes of Wilmette IL; sisters Margaret Sillars, Dolores Steffens and Rose Boor. Survived by Marie K. (Lionel) Gordon, Maple Grove; John M. (Barb) Maslowski, Maplewood; Susan M. (Patrick) Farinacci, North St. Paul. There are 6 grandchildren: Jenna, Daniel, Andrew Maslowski, Elizabeth Gordon and Tony, Tommy Farinacci; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Suzanne was an active member of the Holy Rosary Society at St. Peters Catholic Church in North St. Paul; American Legion Auxiliary Post #39, North St. Paul; past Auxiliary President and life member Arthur O. Haukland VFW Post #1350; Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary. Served as FIRST female Chief of Police Reserve, North St. Paul. Suzanne was a long time resident of North St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (Aug. 13, 2013) 11:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2590 North Margaret St., North St. Paul. Interment Fort Snelling, National Cemetery. Visitation Monday (Aug. 12, 2013) from 4 - 7 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul. The family would like to thank the staff at Ecumen Lakeview Commons in Maplewood and Health Partners Hospice Care Team One for the wonderful care she received. Memorials preferred to Ecumen Lakeview Commons.
