Obituary of Margaret V. Wlaschin

Passed away peacefully at her Mahtomedi farm home of 57 years, surrounded by her family. Margaret was born in Albion, Nebraska on September 2, 1918 to Mathew and Pearl Dority. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bernard (Bun); brothers Paul, Joe, John and Lawrence Dority; daughter-in-law Bonnie Wlaschin. Survived by sons Mike and Dan; daughters Sheryl Noeker (Ron) and Mary Hinton (Bill); grandchildren LTCol Peter Wlaschin, Kim Quade (Dan), Kelly Walther (Gary), Kate Staples, Kitt Picard (Craig), Karen Bastyr (Ryan), Ann Noeker, Roshelle Verdeck (Mick); 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Margaret was a woman of many talents and skills. She was devoted to her family, church and God. Over the years she opened her home to many who needed shelter and a place to be loved. She loved animals and had many cats, dogs and horses over the years. She will be remembered for the hundreds of pies she made over the years for St. Jude's CornFest, her self-taught sewing skills, her excellent cooking, and for being a welcoming hostess. The family wants to thank the staff and volunteers of Family Means and Home Instead for their loving help during our journey with Mom. A special thanks to Dr. Martha Sanford and Dr. Steven Miles for helping us and Mom through this trying time. Memorial Mass Monday (4/8) 11:00 AM at ST. JUDE OF THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 700 Mahtomedi Ave., Mahtomedi, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Private interment. Memorials preferred to Family Means, 1875 Northwestern Ave., Stillwater, MN 55082.
