Obituary of Beverly Ann Jyrkas

Age 87 of Oakdale, MN Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born in Duluth, Minnesota and preceded in death by parents Astrid & Pedar Burke, and loving husband of 62 years, Wilfred. Survived by daughter Coral Champer (William Hicks) of Sorrento, FL; son Mark Jyrkas (Rita) of Oakdale, MN; four devoted grand-daughters Jennifer (Andrew Huber), Minneapolis, MN, Erica (Eric Steinke), Chicago, IL, Allison (Joel Formola), Edison, NJ and Andrea (Nick LeRoy), Woodbury, MN; two great-grandsons Archer and Gustav (Gus); two great-granddaughters Scarlett and Sydney; and expected one more great-grandson in June. Also survived by sister Joy McKnight (Lyle), Seattle, WA; many other fun-loving Norwegian relatives and friends. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (“GG”); and got great pleasure from each of those roles. Her marriage to Wil was a testament to what a great love/marriage could be. A friend to many, she and Wil were involved in multiple activities. Later in life, Mom and Dad became ballroom dancers and they spent many nights dancing the night away with all of their friends. Beverly was a compassionate woman of style, grace and sass, and though she will be missed greatly, our final and consoling thought is that mom and dad are finally back on the dance floor, forever entwined. Visitation will be held at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St Paul, MN 55109, 3:00PM – 7:00PM on Monday, January 27, 2014. Memorial/Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014, 11:00 AM also at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, with visitation from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Make a Wish, American Diabetes, or your choice.
