Obituary of George H. Johans

Age 88 Of Mesa, Arizona Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2011. George was born & raised in St. Paul, MN. He attended Monroe High School & is survived by his high school sweetheart & beloved wife of 66 years, Elizabeth "Bette" Kostohryz. George was a devoted father to Jill (Ken) Zimmerman, Mary Lee (Joel) Hoffman, Richard Johans (Janet Mate) & Debby (Tim) Geronsin. He is also survived by many grandchildren & great grandchildren, as well as nieces & nephews who knew him as "Uncle Sonny." George enjoyed a long & fulfilling retirement after a career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. He lived an extraordinarily good life of service & love to God, his family & his Country, a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II & the Korean Conflict. The family wishes to extend grateful thanks to the staff of the Legacy Retirement Home & Sun Valley Hospice. Funeral Mass & burial in St. Paul, MN, will be held at a future date.
