Obituary of Howard L. Nelson

Beloved Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather Age 89 of North St. Paul. Passed away peacefully on June 19, 2012. Howie's life was devoted to his family, his country and his faith. Long-time member of St. Peter's Church and the Knights of Columbus. WWII veteran (US Army Air Corps), Howie served as he lived - with honor. Preceded in death by cherished wife, Janet. Loving father of Judy (Tom), Cindy (John), Mark (Nini) and Joan; grandfather of Lindsy (Patrick), Kathy (Bill), Mary, Alex, Theresa, Ben, Michael and Mark; great-grandfather of 4. Survived by brother "Ozzie" and sister "Midge", many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, who brightened his day. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (6/26) at 10:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 Margaret Street. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4-8:00 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Avenue, North St. Paul with prayer vigil at 7:30 PM. Visitation also one hour before the Mass at Church on Tuesday. Memorials preferred to St. Peter's Church. Howard has given us many years of love, warm words of advice and beautiful paintings to remember him by.
