Obituary of Joseph Roy Markuson

Age 84 Of Maplewood Passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at his home. A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Monday, March 4, 2013 at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, MN. Private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in St. Paul. Joe was born May 17, 1928 in Henning, MN to Harris and Esther(Isakson) Markuson. He graduated from Clitherall High School in 1945. After high school he entered the Army and was stationed in Germany. Joe held a number of entrepreneurial and sales positions during his life including: owning a dry cleaning business, advertising sales, sales manager for BF Goodrich Corporation, sales manager for National By-Products, Inc., and owner of Clinton Wholesale Foods, in Clinton, IA. On May 1968 he married the former Helen Justine Roehl, in St. Paul, MN, who preceded him in death in 1990. He married Marjorie Mondoux on September 6, 1992 in Clinton, IA. He was a Mason and member of the American Legion Post 39 in North St. Paul, MN. Joe is survived by his wife Marjorie; his daughter Janice Reusche and her husband, Dan; two sons Peter Markuson and his wife Sue of Elmhurst, IL, Jason Markuson and his wife Erin of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren Sara, Ryan, Cameron, Connor, Christopher, and Jack; his nieces Karen Stulc and Jane Langenback, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harris and Esther; his sister Lorraine; and his first wife Helen Justine Markuson(Roehl) in 1990.
