Obituary of Steven Altstatt

b. 8/11/1949 d. 4/17/2011 Unexpectedly passed at age 61. Steve was a "giver" & "hugger". He was a wonderful husband, father & provider. Having worked at the same grocery chain for 34 years (most currently Rainbow Foods), there was nothing about the business he did not know. Steve loved estate sales, shopping & Breezy Point every summer which was his "home away from home." Most of all he loved his family, he was a devoted son to his mother, husband to his wife & father to his children. Steve is survived by his mother Elaine (95); his wife, Mara; 3 children, Marlaena, Melanie & Brian; granddaughter, Mikaela; his brother John (Beverly). He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Altstatt. Visitation will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church of St. Paul, 1340 North Hazel St., followed by a Worship Service at 12:00 pm & Luncheon immediately to follow.
