Obituary of Shirley Eldredge

Age 81, of Oakdale Died Thursday, May 3rd She was preceded in death by her son Steven, sister Beverly Engwer and brothers Donald, Richard and Marvin Elert. Her loss is deeply felt by her loving husband Tony, daughter Karen Mott (Micheal), son William (Fawn Hawkinson) and daughter Kristine, as well as sister Lorraine Straka, sister-in-law Joan Elert, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched with her bright smile, generosity and thoughtfulness. Shirley worked at Std. Conveyor, Hazelwood School, then at 3M for 18 years as a secretary/ receptionist. She enjoyed spending time with friends from Red Hats and "the Y". Shirley was a wonderful hostess, welcoming friends and family into her home, or joining them at a restaurant. She liked going to casinos and trips with Tony. She loved vibrant colors, flowers and gardening - and sharing the view of the hummingbirds, cardinals, opossums, squirrels and flowers in her yard with visitors. She loved her children, her sisters and brothers and their families, but most of all her beloved husband Tony, to whom she was married for almost 60 years. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, May 12th at Church of St. Peter, 2600 N. Margaret St. in N. St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior, and luncheon to follow. The family wishes to thank those who have helped care for Shirley during the last few months.
