Obituary of Roy E. Derickson

Award Winning Photo Journalist, St. Paul Pioneer Press For 45 Years Roy joined God's "Great Darkroom in the Sky" on September 21, 2013 at age 87. Preceded in death by father Edwin; mother Vera; triplet brothers Raymond & Robert; sister Dorothy Johnson; wife Doris; dear son Scott; daughter Carol Kirchner; & wife Audrey Barrette. Survived by son Chris (Judi); daughter Joani Holmes (Bobby); godchildren Donna Jean Dean, Scott Satersmoen & Berit Sivertson; special family, daughter Michelle Barrette (Alf Sivertson); son Scott Barrette; grandchildren Sam, Adam (Tracy), Benjamin & Luci Derickson; Nicholas Roy & Alex Robert Holmes; Chad & April Kirchner; Marit, Anja & Berit Sivertson; Mackenzie, Emma-Clare, Matthew & Brandon Barrette; great grandchildren Matthew LaFlex, Myles, Ryder & Ada Derickson; numerous nieces, nephews & beloved friends. Navy Master Sergeant in WWII where he learned his trade, profession & lifelong love of photography. Roy blessd everyone he touched by capturing a photographic memory & creating a treasured piece of art. Funeral service Friday (9/27) 11:00 AM at GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1669 Arcade St. N, St. Paul. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 5-8 PM & one hour prior to service, both at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
