Obituary of Ronald Varney

Age 74 of White Bear Lake Passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 after a courageous battle with Sarcoma. Ron was born April 25, 1937 in St. Paul to Vernon Valentine Varney and Grace Ernestine Strese. He came from a family of seven children; Shirley, Nancy, Harry, Lorin, Kathy and Debbie. Ron had two children from a previous marriage; Jeff and Cindy Varney. He married Jeanette Austad on Nov. 18, 1978, welcoming five more children to the family. Ron lived in the White Bear Lake/Maplewood area the majority of his life, working as an auto mechanic for many years and then changing over to construction work. The last 12 years he worked at Austad Construction for his son, David Austad. Ron is survived by his children; Jeff and Cindy Varney; stepchildren, Sherry Rand, Brenda (Dennis) Collins, Pam Austad, Roxanne (Steve) Peltier and David (Rose) Austad, along with 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Ron is also survived by his brother; Lorin; sisters, Shirley, Kathy and Debbie. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends that he was blessed to have in his life.
