Obituary of Kathleen "Kathy" Ryan

Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Ryan , age 77, passed away peacefully at United Hospital in St. Paul on August 25, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Warren and Irene (Vidal) Jolly; brothers, Donald and Joe Jolly. Kathy will be deeply missed by her son, Shawn (Tracie) Ryan; daughter, Shannon (John) Sass; four grandchildren, Allisha, Josh, Andrew & Niamh; sister, Patsy (Jolly) Carr. Often referred to as “chatty Kathy” throughout her life, Kathy genuinely loved people … and she was so very good at it. She loved without conditions and took great pleasure in connecting with people, always encouraging them in their path forward no matter their struggle. She instilled a future & hope. Kathy persevered through many health challenges, and in spite of them, remained strong in her faith. Above all, she would tell you her passion was her children and making the best life she could for them, often hosting neighborhood pool parties, sleepovers and extended family gatherings with grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins. We invite all who knew Kathy, friends, and family to join us to celebrate her life, share stories and fellowship around her memories. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, September 2nd in Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Avenue North, North St. Paul with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 AM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St. Paul.
