Nanette "Nan" Genevieve St. George

Age 82, of Oakdale, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 13th after surviving a stroke followed by a long journey with dementia. 

Nan grew up in St. Paul, MN and married her high school sweetheart, Dennis in 1960. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage together living first in St. Paul, then Little Canada until finally settling in Oakdale, MN in 1973. She stayed busy raising their six children until later entering the work force as a salesclerk at The House of Clocks, and later for the Minnesota Nurses Association. She loved gardening, skiing, golf and roller skating. She also enjoyed traveling by motorcycle or car across the states. Her greatest joy was in her family: her husband, children, and grandchildren. As her dementia progressed, Dennis became her primary caretaker and her light in the darkness.

Nan is preceded in death by siblings, Jim Paul, Maize Zacherson, Dan Paul, Theresa Paul, Tom Paul, Dori Christensen and twin sister Nancy Rowan.

Survived by husband, Dennis St. George; children, Edward (Ruth) St. George, Andrea St. George, Pamela (Richard) Wogensen, Paul (Cindy) St. George, Lynette (Scott) Carney, Christopher (Kaaren) St. George; 16 grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Jennifer, Dylan, Peter, Breanne, Chelsea, Warren, Carly, Henry, George, Aidan, Ellesa, Kedran, Liyana, Roenna; one great grandchild, Leila; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11 AM (9 AM-11 AM visitation) at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th St. N., Oakdale, MN.
