Obituary of Kurt Robert Karwoski

Kurt Robert Karwoski passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 23, 2023 at age 71 in Hastings, Minnesota.  He was born and raised on the east side of St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Harding High School.  Kurt went on to attend Bemidji State University and taught school in Australia, Alaska and Arizona.  He was an avid sports fan and was on the track team at Harding High School and Bemidji State University.  Kurt coached cross country skiing in Fairbanks, Alaska and organized the first Fairbanks Hiihto cross country ski marathon.  He skied several American Birkebeiner marathons as well.  In his later years, Kurt took care of his aging mother, Lillian, and upon her death he spent his retirement in Hastings, Minnesota.

Kurt is survived by his brother, Gene (Cindy) Karwoski of Superior, Wisconsin; sister, Jill Randall of Chaska, Minnesota; brother, Stan (Linda) Karwoski of Oakdale, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Karwoski; mother, Lillian Karwoski; and brother-in-law, Bill Randall.

A private family celebration of Kurt's life will be held.
