Obituary of Roseann Marie Smith

Smith, Roseann “Rose” M. (née Nauertz) 

Age 72, of North St. Paul, passed away Sept. 16, 2023, after a ferocious battle with Diffuse B cell lymphoma. She was born on Sept. 7, 1951. She was a loving, caring, and generous person who cherished her family and friends. Her happiness stemmed from being surrounded by her loved ones, and she always found joy in their company. Roseann had a love for travel and enjoyed visiting casinos. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to share a laugh.  

Roseann is survived by her brother, Roy (Carol) Nauertz; sister-in-law, Joann Nauertz; brother, Rick (Kay) Nauertz; sister, Lesa Neumann (Andy Hearden); nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Anne and Ted Gravelle. Roseann was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Sr. and Antenette Nauertz; step-dad, Karl Neumann; husband, Pete; special companion, Harry Tuthill; and brother, Albert Nauertz. In memory of Roseann Marie Smith, a gathering will be held to celebrate her life and the cherished memories she leaves behind.  

Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Roseann’s life and share stories on Wed., Sept. 27, 2023, from 4PM to 7PM at Sandberg Mortuary, 2593 E. 7th Ave., No. St. Paul, MN 55109. Funeral service will be held on Thurs., Sept. 28, 2023, at 11 AM (10-11AM visitation) at Sandberg Mortuary. Interment at Oakland Cemetery.  Luncheon to follow.  

The family thanks Minnesota Oncology, nursing staff at St. John’s Hospital and Mayo Clinic, and Hospice of the Midwest, for the compassionate care they gave Roseann and our family.
