Obituary of Janice Irene Hervas

Janice Irene Hervas (nee Humphrey)

Born April 18, 1937, in Turtle Lake, WI to Wilhelmina and Charles Humphrey, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, in Woodbury, MN.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother Harry, James, and Leroy. Survived by devoted and loving husband Charles; children, Lynn (Julie), Tammy (Doug); grandchildren, Dana, Desirae (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Dasham, Verity and Brigham; siblings June, and Sharon (Gary), and many nieces and nephews.

Jan graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1955 and began college in River Falls, WI, where she earned her teaching degree. She married Chuck on August 17, 1957. They moved to Minnesota in 1958 where Jan began her 29-year teaching career in Oakdale.

Jan and Chuck purchased and renovated a cabin on Horseshoe Lake in Turtle Lake, WI where they were able to spend time with local family and friends. 

Jan was a devoted teacher and grandmother. She loved baking and always had a pie ready for visitors. She enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, and reminising about growing up in Turtle Lake.

Visitation 9am-11am; service 11am-11:45am, Friday, October 27, at St John Lutheran Church, 1975 St Johns Dr, Woodbury, MN 55129. Please join us for lunch after the service.

Interment following lunch at St John Lutheran Cemetery, 1/2 mile north of church.
