Obituary of Anne Therese Albers
Albers, Anne (Annie) Therese; of Dellwood, Minnesota died on October 29, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. Annie was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 25th, 1959. An introvert, Annie was one of ten children. She is preceded in death by parents Robert and Anne Miller and brother John Miller. Annie met her beloved, Tom, in the fall of 1979 at the University of Minnesota, and they were married on November 21, 1980. Annie is survived by Tom as well as by their five daughters and sons-in-law: Emily Nolan (Will), Sarah, Elizabeth Isaacson (Ben), Caroline (Jason Miskowiec), and Eleanor. She loved being Gigi to her three sweet grandchildren: Charlie and Juliette (Liz), and Kai (Sarah). We would be remiss not to mention her grand-dogs: Tchopper, Indy, Minny, and Remy. Annie also leaves behind her dear friends, her eight siblings and their spouses, and 49 nieces and nephews. Annie’s world was supremely focused on the raising of smart, kind women. She delighted in her daughters greatly. To them, Annie passes down a unique sense of humor, strong spirituality, a belief in the goodness in others, and intuition, integrity and independence. Among many things, she is remembered for celebrating birthdays for a week, her boisterous laugh, a love of rainy days, a nap so good you think you went unconscious, her willingness to identify the elephant in the room, designing memorable homes and adventures with Tom, and the art of a good haiku. Annie’s death concludes a nine year journey with ovarian cancer. In the last year of her life, Annie eagerly participated in a clinical trial for the advancement of ovarian cancer research hoping others may benefit; she strongly encourages all women to learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and to advocate fiercely for themselves. Her family would like to express a sincere Thank You to the care providers and hospice team who accompanied her; you contributed so positively to Annie’s and our lives, and we are grateful.
