Obituary of Mary Louise O'Connor

Mary Louise (Langevin) O’Connor, age 91, passed away on October 4th, 2023. Mary Lou was born in 1932 in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from St Joseph's Academy, and married Robert in 1954. She and Bob called North St. Paul home for over 67 years, raising their six children and opening their lives to a number of foster children. She was a very involved and supportive mom. Mary Lou earned her nursing degree in the ‘70’s. She worked in Hospice care and at St. John’s Hospital. As longtime members of St. Peter Catholic Church, Mary Lou and Bob were very active. 3 generations of their children have been, and continue to be involved in the School and Church. Mom was an avid Twins fan, quilter and gardener (she never met a weed she didn’t pull). She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and spending time at the family cottage, where no night was complete without playing multiple games of Parcheesi! She is greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Robyn Cook, Colleen (Mark) Hedman, Jeanine (Jeff) Weschcke, Blaise (Helen) O’Connor, Chris (Katie) O’Connor and Larry (Sheri) O’Connor, as well as 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Much thanks to Region’s Hospital (ER, C6 floor and the Stroke unit) for their excellent and compassionate care of mom and of us!! A private mass and Fort Snelling burial have been held.  A Celebration of Life will take place in Fellowship Hall, at the Church of St Peter, 2600 N Margaret St, No St Paul, 55109  on Thursday November 16, 5 -7 pm. The family asks that memorials be made to the Church of St. Peter.
