Obituary of Lawrence Charles Leach
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lawrence Charles Leach (aka Larry/Tubby). He passed away on November 15, 2023, at the age of 79 years old.
Larry was born May 26, 1944, to C. Lawrence and Gert Leach in Saint Paul, MN. He lived a life marked by his marriage to Joanne (Hauwiller) and the birth of his five sons. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him a Purple Heart. Owner of Larry's Tile Inc., he was passionate about his hobbies of racing homing pigeons, hunting and fishing, and raising tropical fish.
Larry touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed by his wife Joanne, his sons--David (Amy), Daniel (Deb), Timothy (Christine), Steven, and Glenn (Jessica), and his eight grandchildren (Tyler, Kelsey, Abigail, Blake, Kevin, Alex, Reed, and Zane), as well as other close family and friends.
He is survived by his sister (Marlene Bishop), his brother (Bill Sirvas), his sisters-in-law (Betty Leach and Jackie Roy), and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, his sisters (Bern Zamora and Patty Thorsen), and his brother (James Leach).
A special thank you to the Allina Health Hospice Team; your dedication, compassion, and expertise made an immense difference in our lives during such a challenging time.
Larry will forever remain in our hearts, remembered for his sense of humor and love of his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Sandberg Funeral and Cremation Services, 2593 E. 7th Avenue. North Saint Paul, on Tuesday, December 5th, 2:00-4:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at Church of St. Peter 2600 Margaret Street N. North Saint Paul, with visitation on Wednesday, December 6th at 10 AM and a Service at 11 AM. A luncheon will follow the service. Additionally, military honors at Fort Snelling at 2 PM.
